On Tuesday, 20th September, all of the Year 12 IB Diploma students had to present a presentation about IB to the Year 10 and 11 students. We had been divided into four teams according to house team. Chekhov(Green) had to present about the IB Learner Profile, Gogol(Blue) about the subjects, Tolstoy(Yellow) about CAS and our team which is Pushkin(Red) had to present about Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Extended Essay (EE). Since we have two topics to talk about, we split into two. I had to talk about EE with Mantas and Shaun and Daniel and Kirill talked about TOK.
Standing in front of about 50 students was not easy, and also explaining and talking at the same time. And to avoid this nerve, I did not look at the students while presenting, but I found something to look at which was a window behind the students. And this actually helped me presenting to the students.
By presenting to the students about EE also taught me something about it because we have not started anything on EE and this actually benefits all of us in IB. I really think that all of us did a good job presenting to the future IB students because not all of us have talked in front of quite a big audience.
The CAS learning outcomes that I achieved from this presentation are :
- I increased my awareness of my own strengths and areas for growth
- I undertaken new challenges
- I worked collaboratively with others
- I shown perseverance and commitment in this activity
- I planned and initiated activity
